ASSESSMENTS
Samantha can conduct diagnostic assessments for a range of conditions. Please contact us for information about booking and fees.
Autism Spectrum Disorder

Samantha is able to provide a single assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is experienced in conducting these assessments for children, teens, and adults. The assessment takes about 2 hours, where information about the individual's early development and current functioning is collected from their family (or significant other), school (if relevant), and observations of behaviours within the assessment session. Usually, the results of the assessment can be given at the end of the session; however, there are situations where more information is required to give a definite result. A comprehensive report is provided, outlining the assessment process, diagnosis (if relevant), and recommendations.

Cognitive Assessments

Samantha can conduct cognitive assessments for children, teens, and adults. These assessments examine the individual's strengths as well as areas requiring support. The assessment can be used to diagnose specific learning impairments, giftedness, and intellectual disability. Samantha uses evidence-based standardised assessment tools, including the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V), Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV), and Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-III). These tests are conducted on iPads, which increases the client's engagement with the activities. A written report is provided and includes an explanation of the assessment process, the results of the assessment, diagnosis (if relevant), and recommendations.

Adaptive Behaviour Assessments

An Adaptive Behaviour Assessment examines the things that people need to do to function in their everyday life. These important everyday behaviours can be grouped into the broad areas of communication, practical daily living skills, and relating to other people. Learning about an individual's adaptive behaviours and skills is an important part of the process that can help plan for support at school or in the home. Samantha uses the Vineland-3 to assess adaptive behaviours and uses information from a parent, caregiver, partner, or teacher to determine the individual's level of functioning.
